Frequently Asked Questions

Do you sell regular work light towers with a generator?

We manufacture and sell the MoonGlo Light Tower, which is designed to hold your 2000- to 3000-watt generator. We also manufacture and sell a conversion bar with balloon lights that you can attach to your own light tower (of nearly any make or model). This converts your existing equipment into a glare-free, highly efficient balloon work lighting system. Both systems are available in LED or metal halide. Please call for more information.

What type of light bulb is used in MoonGlo Balloon work lights?

The light bulb used in the MoonGlo Balloon Light is the same as in almost all light towers: a 1000-watt metal halide, model BT-37, which should be readily available at most wholesale electrical suppliers. We also offer MoonGlo LED Lights. All bulbs crew into typical E39 base. Both Lamps are readily available where commercial bulbs are sold. Please contact us with any further questions.

What is the best way to secure a tripod work light in windy environments?

We highly recommend sandbags to weight down for windy conditions.

How long will MoonGlo Balloon Light covers last?

The lifespan depends on how the balloon light covers are handled. Regarding direct weather exposure, one customer used MoonGlo Balloon Lights 24/7 for 54 months on a temporary road on the San Francisco Bay, enduring high winds, cold fog, and rain. They didn't need new covers until the end of that period, after which the lights went to another job on the bay.

Are MoonGlo Balloon Light covers replaceable?

Yes, our MoonGlo Balloon Light covers are replaceable and can be ordered from us with complete instructions on how to replace them.

What makes a MoonGlo Balloon Light better than regular work lights?

Our MoonGlo balloon light envelope features a top fabric of high-temperature aluminized Mylar on the inside, specifically for its reflective qualities. This top fabric captures the light and reflects it downward to the ground. The design also reduces light pollution into the atmosphere. The bottom fabric is thin enough to allow maximum light transmission for work purposes, yet thick enough to diffuse and minimize glare.

Is the MoonGlo Balloon Work Light approved for hazardous locations?

No, it is not approved for hazardous locations.
